WeFollow is the new Twitter directory created by Kevin Rose- creator of Digg. Purely just from having the backing of being Digg’s creator alone gives the site a leg up on most Twitter start ups that we are going to see come out.
Adding Yourself Is Easy
To add yourself into the directory it’s very simple, from your account tweet: @wefollow #category1 #category2 #category3
And it will add you to the 3 categories you include in your tags. Choose them carefully as you are only allowed 3 categories to be included within so that the directory does not become overly bogged down with spammers signing up into every category under the sun. Once you send out the tweet within a few minutes the WeFollow directory will detect your @wefollow message and you will be set. You can easily check and verify that you were added by browsing over to the site and checking the category you signed up in.
Change is not…
The interface loads quick and is easy to navigate through however there are a few features I feel could help it, which I’m sure will be added over time. My major two complaints are first that you can’t search by person. If you were looking for someone in particular or just to check if you were added there is no easy way to do so when you add yourself to categories that are already full of people. My second complaint is actually these categories themselves. While it is easy to add yourself to them there is no easy way to remove yourself from the service itself or a category so that you can add yourself to another instead. This second feature is one that I’m sure will be addressed in time it’s just strange to not see an easy remove or change option off the bat.
With the backing behind the service this will become one of, if not the top, standard Twitter web directory. So if your interested in checking it out head over to WeFollow and check it out today.
