Modern Warfare 2 meets Metal Gear Solid – part 1

Modern Warfare 2 meets Metal Gear Solid – part 1

Beat Down Boogie has created what could be one of the best video game based videos that I have ever seen. It’s taking Modern Warfare 2 and Metal Gear Solid and combining them into the same world for a full out ‘fun’ effect.

There are classic elements from both game worlds present as well as some twists on a certain company behind one of the franchises as well. Honestly the whole thing is just a riot for anyone who is a fan of either series and worth the couple of minutes it takes to watch!

I AM ADDICTED TO INFO GRAPHICS. Ahem. So this is clearly showing exactly how much the online gaming industry actually has in terms of both players and profits. I really wish it gave more information on the browser game end of the industry as it doesn’t seem completely impossible to break into and could be something I’d like to explore in the future.

Hell the chart even includes the top pirated games (though fortunately doesn’t try to say how much piracy costs the gaming industry as those numbers are always skewed.)

Still, this is where our nation’s money that is not being spent on war and medicine is clearly going – video games. MMM video games.

What You Didn’t Know About Nintendo

This Is A Fraction Of It I’m Sure

I know I overdo it with the infographics but I keep coming across ones that are just too fun to not post. While I am not a Wii addict like most of the people that I know or a true fan boy anymore I still get nostalgic over anything classic Nintendo related. As Mario is shown predominantly here and he has always been the clear favored of anyone who enjoys Nintendo I figured.. hell with it I don’t feel like typing anything today anyway with how busy work is!

Pixels – AMAZING Video Tribute To 8-Bit Gaming

Pixels

I really am planning on putting up a regular post today but once I saw this video (works not busy quite yet.. being Friday I’m sure that’ll change) I HAD to post it. This is such an awesome tribute to 8-Bit gaming I needed to post it for anyone who hasn’t seen it. Someone throws out his old TV but the games ones played on it weren’t quite ready to be put to rest quite yet leading to New York being invaded by classic video games.

I suggest full screening this video to enjoy!

If your paying close attention you can find fun little extras like the oldschool Psygnosis, Ocean, and Commodore logos above the subway signs. When Pac Man first shows up theres a SMALL sign to his right that has a caution sign with the Pac Man silhouette.

The True Evil Of Duck Hunt’s Laughing Dog

The Duck Hunt Dog Is EVIL

Dueling Analogs has uncovered the truth behind The Laughing Dog. From terrorist attacks to assassinations to religious wars this dog is behind some of the greatest evils that have occurred on that planet. Even though we knew Bert is evil (from Sesame Street) everyone only thought The Laughing Dog was an annoyance.

The documents that have been uncovered prove so much more though! Sadly the footage they recovered from the video camera that was watching the room the information was locked in is all that remains. They couldn’t even find the body of the man caught on film here as the entire warehouse was destroyed 5 minutes after the final scene that they were able to recover.

Super Mario Brothers 3 Was A Play

Super Mario Brothers 3 Never Happened

Now THIS is a great take on Super Mario Brothers 3. If you’ve ever taken over analyzing video games too far you can fully appreciate how a few very simple patterns led to the conclusion that Super Mario Brothers 3 was actually not a game you were playing through but a play. Having played this games a ‘few’ times when I was younger I can absolutely agree that when put in this perspective it makes sense.

Mario Brothers was all in sewers and turned our plumbers into Super Mario Brothers where they entered the Mushroom Kingdom. At the end of this tale Super Mario Brothers (we’re going with the United Stated time line and skipping over the real Super Mario Brothers 2 as to not confuse anyone who didn’t know a different one existed) Bowser was beaten. We enter Super Mario Brothers 2 at this point which turns out to just have been a dream. Super Mario Brothers 3? Simply a recreation to embellish the heroic tale of our favorite plumber and in all this time no action was taken which is what truly gave Bowser the opportunity to wreak such havoc in Super Mario World on the Super Nintendo. He had plenty of time between Super Mario Brothers and Super Mario World to both create a new army AND build his air ship and strange smiley helicoptermobile.

When you think about it – it all makes sense.

Video Game Statistics

A Whole Lot Of Video Game Statistics

What does this chart really go to prove? That even as the 360 and Modern Warfare 2 fan boy that I’ve become… Nintendo trumps everything. Always has, always will, all due to a certain Italian plumber… that and you have more of a chance playing video games with women if using a Nintendo.

I can tell right now that somehow these stats are so going to be used against me.

Periodic Table Of Controllers

Yes There Really Have Been That Many Video Game Controllers

(Click the image to see it full sized.)

So I was recently linked something that is probably an old image that you’ve all seen but I somehow missed. It was another milestone of great Internet moments as someone created the periodic table of video game controllers. A stunning masterpiece that will easily be both laughed at and cheered on by every gamer out there. I’ve been consistently digging all of the original charts, graphs, and random graphics like this that have been popping up online as of late but this one takes the cake.

How To Save Zelda

Remember when video games weren’t dumbed down with save points every so often and you had to actually think about how to beat a level? Or at the very least memorize the repetative movements the enemies would go through to avoid them?

Seriously this is one of those “so bad it’s good” moments. The Internet (or more specifically Firefox) is able to tell you how to save Zelda with a single mouse click.

Pacman vs Mario

When Video Game Hero’s Fight!

This video would clearly have been better if it was an intro for the next Smash Brothers game as that would be the ultimate area for video game hero’s to fight to the death in, aside of course Capcom vs Random Franchise #219 Hyper Super Happy Funball Edition 2. With Mario in it though we will never see that Capcom game released (unless on the Wii… and even then I doubt they would cut into the profits of their next Smash Brothers game.)

So with this in mind you would think naturally that Pacman vs Mario would be in a video game, how about a Russian food commercial? Apparently that’s where this one is coming from and I have to admit I’m stumped. I can get Pacman in a commercial but no matter how much Mario enjoys eating (he’s fat,) all of the shrooms and flowers in the world don’t seem like they add up to whatever this is advertising.
