This Week’s Top 5 Blog Posts – Zombieland Review Edition

So this weekend Zombieland is coming out. While I may have seen it twice and posted a review of Zombieland at BuyZombie, my opinion may be looked upon as biased. So I’ve decided to spread around the love a little and give you 5 more reviews on Zombieland from around the web to help you make your own decision!

Note: All of these reviews contain spoilers to some degree, most shouldn’t interfere with your enjoyment of the movie.

1. Zombieland 2009 by: Bryan Schuessler.
A fellow blogger from Illinois, Bryan hits every angle head on. From the character interaction, to the music, to the special effects, to the celebrity guest appearance I couldn’t agree more. It’s all hype and properly demonstrates all of the same reasons i loved this film. If your looking for a review (and didn’t want my pro-zombie stance filtered in) this is the one to read to keep the hype alive.

2. Take a Joyride Through ‘Zombieland’ by: Horror 101.
Instead of focusing on why a zombie comedy is a bad idea and then saying regardless of that this is a fantastic movie- Horror 101 starts off by saying why we NEED more zombie comedies out there, when done right. This one is done right. I love reading a review that is all for an upbeat side to horror. While we all love our killers, zombies, ghosts, satanists, whatever they bring up a great point- horror doesn’t have to all be depressing.

3. Zombieland Review by: Horror Gory Reviews.
The introduction to this review says he all. The reviewer absolutely despises horror themed comedies. I generally agree with this (with the obvious exceptions of Shaun of the Dead, Zombieland, and a very short list of other such movies.) With this in mind the author goes in to write a glorious review on why you will enjoy the movie even though it is in itself a comedy over a horror film. A good read for the naysayers out there who would criticize the film on subject matter.

4. Move over Shaun of the Dead! Review of ZOMBIELAND by: Quiet Earth.
I wrote my review first but didn’t think to say what absolutely needed to be said. “Yup, I said it. Zombieland is now officially the king of zombedies, besting out Shaun of the Dead with its Family Guy style interjection of wit and potty humor, creative zombie killing, and all around hilarity. You might think this sacrilege or bias, because as an American – that maybe I want the title to be yanked from the UK – but it’s not. It’s just really that good.” That is all I need to say on this article. It’s a great read but… no really that said it all.

5. Zombieland (2009) by: Nomad of Dread Central
“Comedic timing is near perfection in Zombieland, backing up the obvious fun of human-on-zombie violence with many a moment of gut busting hilarity. It can be as simple as an awkward or dorky conversation or as surprising as one particular scene in which the crew take refuge in a much unexpected location, providing the most insanely hysterical scene of the film. It’s one of those moments where people will say, “It was worth it just for that scene.”” EXACTLY right. I’ve heard It was worth it just for so and so scene from so many people on this movie, about different scenes! (Each of them also loved the film at it’s entirety on top of it!)

Love or hate the undead, I can almost guarantee that you will love this movie. If you don’t…. I feel sorry for your inability to appreciate one of the few truly funny movies to have come out as of late.
