This Week’s Top 5 Blog Posts

Looks like I’m back for a second round of this week’s Top 5 blog posts I’ve run across. I still have yet to decide if this will be a weekly post, a when I have time post, or something I’ll stop doing in the next couple of weeks. Only time will tell! (That any feedback is always appreciated.)

1. Remakes or: How Horror Bloggers Become A Marketing Army by: Love Train for the Tenebrous Empire.
I’ve had an interest in Internet marketing for quite some time now and this little post is a GREAT write up on a way horror bloggers are ‘possibly’ being used for marketing. It’s a good quick read and follows the age old adage “there’s no such thing as bad publicity” with how our complaining about remakes we’re still spreading the word to each and everyone of our readers. Definitely a read for horror bloggers out there.

2. Jason Takes Manhattan, Talks DVD by: Todd Gilchrist of Horror Squad.
Honestly this one I was only sold on due to my recent Friday the 13th binge. By binge I mean having watched. Every. Single. Friday the 13th in the last couple of weeks aside from Freddy v Jason (which will be viewed after I am able to pickup and watch all of the Nightmare on Elm Street movies again. Yes I’m a sadomasochist.) It’s a pretty good read though and has a few very fun facts on the making of which any Jason fan will enjoy. Random horror trivia is always a bonus!

3. The Horror Recuts Of YouTube by: Rick Romanowski.
Rick actually had two very well written posts this week to choose from but as his Puppets vs CGI post is a 2 part post and he’s already making the list 2 weeks in row I’m flat out refusing giving him the easy in for 3 weeks! So onto The Horror Recuts of YouTube- this is a post that should bring a smile to any horror buff’s face. Add onto that smile and add in a few laughs as you can watch some of the greatest horror trailers of all time showing the movies in a completely new light! Not only that but a few bonus non-horror movies get to be shown as classic horror cinema. Hilarious.

4. Zombies Ate My Facebook Friends by: Billy Loves Stu.
This is a shorter post but one that shows off how quickly the zombie plague spreads in a group of friends! At least the zombie plague being brought forth by Zombify Yourself the wonderful little marketing tool from Zombieland to turn any picture of yourself into a zombie. While viral marketing is overdone to death it’s good to see that a horror film can find a way to use it for everyone’s enjoyment.

5. zombie-killers.html” target=”_blank”>The 13 Most Bad Ass Zombie Killers by: Brittney-Jade Colangelo.
I swear she cheated and wrote this post only to get on the Friday 5 two weeks in a row. How can I resist a list of 13 of the greatest zombie slayers of all time? OK that’s probably not the case but the thought entertained me as I saw this early post from the week of 13 slayers of the undead. It’s a great little compilation and you can’t be surprised with it being by Brittney that Bruce is at the top of the list.
