DocShots allows for easily previewable documents anywhere online

by Stuart Conover on February 26, 2009

DocStoc has recently released a new web application, DocShots to increase the ease of including document previews to the readers on your website.

DocShots allows webmasters to have their audiences preview documents online before downloading them. It responds on your website in the way way that I showed the Snap Shots Plugin from earlier this week. Actually when I saw this Snap was the first thing that I thought of and felt that many who might be able to make use of it could use this as well.

If you add your custom code from DocShots into your website it will convert .doc, .pdf, .ppt, .and .xls documents to be easily previewably on the fly. While not something that will be overly used by some bloggers anyone who shares a lot of documents with their readers should love this. Instead of having to download a file and waiting for Office or your PDF reader to load you have an instant idea of what the document is about.

Features:

    * Enable instant preview & interaction with any doc
    * Enter one snippet of code and ALL your work is done
    * Turns doc links into shareable, viral content
    * Automatically convert all doc links on your website
    * Eliminate the need to download a doc to preview it; eliminate download wait times and system crashes
    * Provides real-time tracking statistics on each doc
    * Modify the default width and height of the document preview
    * Set documents to display as public on docstoc or store privately in your own account
    * Include or exclude our Related Docs and Other Docs features in the DocShots display
