COBRA!

Cobra Commander

I know I did a shirt post yesterday but as an avid G.I. Joe fan growing up I couldn’t help but break out laughing at this one. Sadly though if you like this design, I’m sorry but TeeFury had it for sale YESTERDAY and they only offer their shirts for a day. Don’t worry I missed it too.

I do have to say that with how the Commander “sometimes” led his troops this seems to be pretty accurate. He was the most incompetent leader in television cartoon history but boy could he constantly rally his troops. If that wasn’t the case he was hypnotizing them so yes even more accurately this shirt just works.

Ba Co N Shirt

Ba Co N Element Shirt

I feel like an idiot. This is one of the simplest Bacon ideas that you could come up with and it’s only now that I have seen it can only question how (and why) it hasn’t been done sooner? Why didn’t the geek in me think of this? Why ask why? It’s bacon on a shirt – do you really need more?

Buy it today at Think Geek! Before I have money again and buy out the entire inventory. I’ll wear bacon shirts 24/7. Bitches.

Fun fact of the day: I may have lost my mind

Minimalist Stephen King Posters

Minimalist Stephen King Posters

I’ve been running across a few Minimalist collections lately. First there was the Minimalist Star Wars Posters followed by the Minimalist TV Posters and now there are Stephen King Posters! Personally I’m waiting for someone to make a huge variety of Dune posters in this style (planets, crests, etc!)

At any rate, Nick Tassone has some amazing talent when mixing the minimalist style with the works of Stephen King. These truly are some beauties and will be quite amazing when he offers prints of them for sale (which is apparently in the works!) I only wish there were a few related directly to The Dark Tower.

If Cooking Were Like This…

…My Girlfriend Couldn’t Complain

Unfortunately for me it isn’t. So that being the case she will continue to give me shit until I can learn to make a meal that will only not kill people but actually taste good. I can live with this charge. I really have no excuse (that’ll fly at least..) at 29 to not be able to make food that is not only able to be digested but taste good.

Oh Internet. Why haven’t you come far enough to be able to make food with the click of a button?

(This post will further cause me to be harassed and you may all laugh at that fact.)

When Two Strangers Meet…

…Wonderful Things Can Happen

So Chat Roulette is where strangers can meet to talk. It’s not the first application that has this design. I’d even be willing to bet that it isn’t the most popular. However if it can arrange a meetup of these epic proportions how can you not enjoy what has been created?

Have a mask? You should waste time over at Chat Roulette today and get more fun filled screen shots! I’m waiting for someone to show up with a Jason mask and someone with a Michael Meyers mask. The entire chat conversation would be “Heavy breathing” or “eerie sound effects.”

BuyZombie Has Risen From The (fashionably) Dead

BuyZombie Has Risen From The (fashionably) Dead

Working with Blue Tide Productions a new BuyZombie has been created.

  • The most noticeable and immediate change is that we very clearly have a new look. There is now a featured section to show off the latest articles on the top of the screen and a much cleaner layout that is also easier to access and navigate.
  • COMMENTS ARE FIXED! Comments were broken on the old theme for nearly 8 months and not only have they been fixed but upgraded. You are now able to comment both as a guest as well as login with either your Disqus, Twitter, Facebook, or Yahoo credentials!
  • Easier to network with BuyZombie: It doesn’t matter if it’s by e-mail, twitter, facebook, or RSS it is now a lot simpler to be able to follow / fan / communicate with us
  • Author boxes for posts! As more guest posts are being lined up we wanted to make sure knew a little bit about who you were reading an article from and be able to show off the great authors that are stopping in!
  • There were also a slew of changes on the back end for updating but most of that is going to prove boring to you so it’s not worth talking about. While Buy Zombie is of course my main project there is more changes on the horizon as well as more projects actually seeing updates and the light of day!

Recent Free Stuff

I Love My Online Job

Running a semi-successful site about zombie news and on top of that writing for a few other horror and other random sites has been nothing but a blessing. I get to meet fellow horror bloggers, fans, and fanatics. I get to talk to authors, directors, and actors. But most importantly (at least where this post is concerned) I get all kinds of neat stuff in the mail. Let’s start with the centerpiece here.

Storenvy, one of the newer (yet leading) online shirt printers has decided to offer up 500 of these beautiful tee’s to anyone involved in the shirt printing, distribution, review, etc channels. Well as BZ clearly reviews shirts from time to time I was on this list and can’t be happier. It truly is a work of art and I’d kind of like to see a print of it available. The design is by GODMACHINE who is a freelance illustrator with a slew of known clients on his list (Tony Hawk, Universal Records, Adidas, Lamb of God, Bullet For My Valentine, etc.) Really a work of art.

Second on my list will be a DVD I actually am overdue on reviewing (I’ve seen it but with the new design for BZ I haven’t had a chance to do a write up quite yet.) and is called “In The Event Of A Zombie Attack” whose website is, conveniently, http://www.intheeventofazombieattack.com/. It’s a great short on tips and tricks on how to survive a zombie outbreak when it occurs. I personally thought it was hilarious and really have to get off my ass on getting the review up as they deserve the praise that I’ll be giving them!

There were also two books that have come in the mail recently. The first is Dawn of the Deadfuls by Steve Hockensmith which is the prequel to a little book that you may have heard of – Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. While I haven’t even had a chance to open it yet if it’s even half as funny as P&P&Z it’ll be another instant classic. The second novel is by TW Brown and is entitled Zomblog. Todd contacted me concerning his novel and I’m glad to soon be able to review it on BZ. If I was slightly more active on pestering companies this is something I could easily do weekly. However with keeping my sites up to date it’s been quickly falling by the way side.

There was going to be another book or DVD in the bottom of this list but I realized I did have Rick request the most recent movies for BZ and already had mailed away other recent books to Erin to review. I really need enough money to hire an assistant or just write up a blanket e-mail I can send to companies requesting movies / books / games / etc for review.

Buy Zombie’s New Site Launch

The Undead Are Online.. In Style

I’ve been working with Zach of Blue Tide Productions for the past month to map out and have him create a new layout for BuyZombie. As of yesterday the new theme is up and running. While I run a multitude of sites it’s clearly the most active of my sites and as it gets the most attention I felt it needed a website that didn’t look like it was straight out of the 90′s. OK it wasn’t that bad but if you had seen the old layout you know exactly what I mean.

Features

  • Visually the site looks spectacular: It has a clean layout, is easy to navigate, and has a featured section
  • Communication wise the comments were broken in the old theme. So as there have not been new comments in months we upgrades to Disqus to allow not just standard comments but being able to comment with Facebook and Twitter as well.
  • Speaking of communication we also made it easier to connect with us on social networks, RSS following, and by e-mail!
  • As there are more guest posters on the horizon there is also now an author box at the end of each post with a bit more information about the author of each post.
