I walk in the air between the rain through myself and back again.. Where? I dont know

Once more no updates in awhile. What can I say I’ve been busy getting ready for the move ;)

Life:
Lots of sorting stuff.
Lots of packing.
Drinking Wed night with Neil, Rex, and Matt.
Finished reorganizing laptop.
Some CoD 4.
Some reading.
No movies.

Fun!.. No promises but.. Probably no more updates until next week.

I wanna hold you high and steal your pain

I have a VALID EXCUSE on the delay since my last update!

My laptop told me to go do uncomfortable things to myself and than the hard drive promptly died.
1) 20 minutes spent trying to get it to boot into Windows until it told me it was corrupt. Swearing ensued.
2) 1 hour of fiddling with repairing image options. I was able to determine that the hard drive itself was fine just the image was corrupted. More swearing insued (though a small sigh of relief due to not having to buy a new hard drive.)
3) 2 hours of hacking the system enough to let me boot into safe mood. Cheers all around!
4) 20 minutes to determine I would not be able to fix Windows. A lone tear rolled down my cheak.
5) I was in Windows though! Plugged in my external hard drive and spend the next hour backing up files.
6) Now to install Windows! … wait… My legit Windows XP key was sitting in my inbox since I was lazy and hadn’t printed it up. Shit.
7) 45 minutes to install my office 2k7 onto my SLOW HORRIBLE DESKTOP OF DOOM (eradicating my old, perfectly working, fast, office xp) so that I could import my .pst file I recovered from the failed drive.
8) 15 minutes importing said .pst file
9) SCORE! Found my legit windows xp pro reg code in e-mail
10) Spent the rest of my free time installing Windows + updates + software. *sighs*

Aside from that there was some Easter stuff going on. Finalizing my plans for my new room. Showing the ‘rents where my new place is going to be. Lots of CoD 4 (hit Prestige again..) I’m sure there was more but the laptop had me so burnt out that I just couldn’t focus on the rest. (I’ve also been playing with a TON of html/php/css stuff. Rawer!)

Asleep in perfect blue buildings.. Beside the green apple sea.. Gonna get me a little oblivion, baby.. Try to keep myself away from me

Wow.. I got a random twitter friend request from the Chicago Tribute – viral marketing at its best! Good for them to take the time to track down people in Chicago though.

Most of the day was spent vegging followed by Dinner at the grandparents w/Rose. I dropped her off after for plans with Jen… which got cancelled so spent the night playing CoD w/Joe followed by Neil right as he was logging.

Oh yes… BSG Season 3 came in! I haven’t popped it open yet but I can’t wait to see the special features… and rewatch the episodes.. specially on my plasma instead of a monitor ;)

When I think of heaven (Deliver me in a black-winged bird).. I think of flying down into a sea of pens and feathers.. and all other instruments of Faith and Sex and God

Up early for errands
Kotaku was flagged as a possible ‘phishing site’ according to IE. I was highly entertained. If it was they would have had all of my information years ago ;)
Arthur C. Clarke died. If you don’t know who this is you don’t read Science Fiction as was one of the greatest and most interesting (and realistic) sci-fi authors to date. Apparently he also just finished writing a new book with one of the last sci-fi authors I was into before I changed what I primarily read as well that’s due out later this year. A sad day for the written word.
Right before heading out for the day I found that there was a new CoD 4 multiplayer map pack due on April 3′rd! Awesomeness! Money to be spent *laughs*
Went out with Rose and Neil to Ikea as Neil and I are looking for cheap ideas for the place and do have a few we’ve already come up with. More money to be spent ;) We’ll have to be going back in a week or two when we know more what an initial budget is going to look like and decide who is buying what. After Ikea we went over to Bar Louie where Rex showed up and later Neil picked up Rob for a night of drinking. Matt was absent due to being sick.. we theorized that his car may just be too much for him ;) Last of the 2 weekly Bar Louie nights as after the move it’ll probably be cut down a bit. If for no other reason than saving money. Went back to my place after and logged in to see Neil playing CoD 4 so logged in to kill people for a bit.

A long december and theres reason to believe.. Maybe this year will be better than the last

There is a new Counting Crows CD sometime this year and while they were all good I still have to say I enjoyed the first one the most ;)

Well this is going to be a quick and boring update for most of you. I spent the entire day working on css / php while at work and learning new stuff as I haven’t made anything new online in awhile. So there will be new things soon. Great new things! Well ok sub-par new things that I sell you as great.

Since Rose was lazy all day I was able to harass Matt into helping photoshop a cartoon head of myself off of one that was made a LONG long time ago in a lifetime far far away of an ex and me. (Thanks Matt!) I couldn’t resist using the picture though because.. goatee.. squinty eyes.. so me ;)

After work I just went over a bit of paperwork and played CoD 4 with Neil. See… boring day for you readers.. sorry about that ;)

I want to be a lion.. Everybody wants to pass as cats.. We all want to be big big stars, but we got different reasons for that…

Completely off topic I’ve been totally into Counting Crows for the past 3 days and I don’t know why as I haven’t listened to them in about a year.

While at work I decided to sign up for Twitter… It may prove to be a good waste of time at work or in general… we’ll see. I have yet to decide what I plan on staying on this or not but it seems like it could be an entertaining way for me to spend parts of the day. That and you can set it up as a nifty web app on web pages.. hmmm….

Right as I walked in I made sure to get the last few days of the month off so I would have 4 days off in a row to help with the whole moving into the city deal. While at work I tried to watch 3:10 to Yuma but we actually got busy enough so that I wasn’t able to.

After work I spent about an hour using the The Way Back Machine to find an old picture a friend did of myself and one of my ex’s so I could cut out my face in cartoon form to use for a few things. After finding it I said hell with it and logged into CoD 4 for killing with Joe.

Dreams aren’t what they used to be.. Some things slide by so carelessly

WAY too tired walking into work to see a voice mail from a store down that the after hours support didn’t fix…. and who luckily didn’t pickup the 3 times I called them trying to get things fixed (I didn’t want to fix their store anyway!) Rose had left her phone at my place the day before so I had brought it in with me assuming she would show up at my work for it and she ended up just saying she’d pick it up after.

Work was slow enough to get a movie in while Matt was still there and I’ll be the first to admit I made a mistake on my choice of movies!
I’m a sucker for hearing an indy movie is good and will drag me into it. I’ve seen so many movies that this is a great lure to work on me, specially if it’s from a source that will usually give me an honest view on an indy movie…. I highly suggest if you see that this is playing on SciFi or some indy movie channel that you… turn the channel. You do not want to waste your time on this movie. It had such praise but it felt like the emo internal struggle that most failed artists spout about. Angels, demons, killing, a ruined landscape. I swear I’ve known 8 people who have come up with this exact idea all of who know artists who think in the same way and as much as it could be an enjoyable concept I felt it wasn’t executed properly. I’m going to overlook the special effects entirely as… it was independently developed. My problem was the acting, scripting, ‘voices’ of the demons, and lack of an unpredictable plot. I watched it with Matt and he will verify I had the whole movie figured out well in advance. This one should be skipped at all costs.

After work I chilled at the house for a bit and ended up hitting up a movie with Rose who is in town. What movie would I go see when it’s in sneak preview form in my area? DUH!
George A. Romero’s Diary of the Dead! Neil and I had a similar idea to this before it was announced so I went in a bit annoyed that we could now not make the movie. *laughs* At any rate the movie did have fewer visible zombies in it than your regular Romero movie but I feel the way that he pulled it off was a perfect mix of horror and suspense. There was also quite a few creative ways to kill zombies used as well as an interesting take on the main characters. This is the first movie he’s done where the majority are just finishing college students that are able to keep going. While some of the more zombies=gore or less plot driven out there may not have enjoyed the movie as much as its predecessors… I have to say this is well worth seeing for all the zombie fans out there.

What’s the deal with my brain? Why am I so obviously insane? In a perfect situation

I really didn’t want to do anything yesterday… felt like my days off didn’t exist which will probably be the case this week too. Score! Before work I decided to hit up Ikea to figure out their shipping days/etc (apparently you can’t order well in advance which is going to make things interesting if any thing I want sells out…) and get everything for my bed setup since it was the last 2 days of a sale. (Score for a gift card I know I’ll be using within the next 2 weeks *laughs*)

At the work I kept busy enough for the first few hours and as it slowed down I ended up working on my Grandmother’s journal for a bit… I should have put a movie in 20 minutes before I thought about it but sadly was just bored at the end of the day ;)

After work I ended up playing CoD 4 with Matt and Joe for a couple hours and as I was getting ready to log Rose came over and basically forced herself onto my 360 and trying out the first set of levels for CoD 4. Finally got to sleep around one which leaves me wide awake for work…

Oh how I need coffee…

Someway.. When the sun begins to shine.. I hear a song from another time.. And I’ll fade away

Early on before work I received a fun filled phone call that Rob was out sick so I got to work the late shift. Score! …. *sighs* Working til 9:30 is not the highlight of my day it should be. While I originally felt that having extra time in the morning would be great, after a quick work out and lunch I realized that starting so late… nothing is really redeeming about it anymore. I can’t wait for a newer earlier schedule to sometime happen. Did I mention it was sunny and 60 degrees out? I wanted nothing at all to do with being in the office? Yea.. ;)

Work ended up a bit slow so two things happened… I found a new web comic that I read through and watched a movie!

So as I was saying I found a new web comic… I can’t yet decide if this is a keeper or not. I’m a bit unsure if I like the style of the artwork but I’ve been digging the characters from reading through it so far.. I’ll probably read through it for the next month or two and decide if I’m going to continue or drop it… of yes.. did I mention it’s about zombies? ;)

Who would have thought a movie based off the death of the man who played Superman on the OLD TV show would be interesting? I have to admit The movie was extremely well done and Ben Affleck did an amazing asshole actor for George Reeves… (An Affleck pretending to be an asshole? shocking I know.) They showed what happened as a ‘present/past’ scenerio of how the characters got to know eachother and the investigation of his death after to see if it was truely a murder or a suicide. I have to admit I watched it on a whim and was VERY surprised that it played out so well. I honestly didn’t think a movie along these lines would have been able to draw me in, the acting, writing, everything was done well and I couldn’t help but be captured by how the movie ended up.

After work? CoD 4 of course ;) I’ve started branching out and using unconventional weapons to give myself more of a challenge when I’m grouped with at least an ok to good team.

You’re an exception to the rule.. You’re a bonafide rarity

Well all morning I was spent doing errands in preparation for the big move at the end of the month as well as my second big news which should be ready … also by the end of the month. However I’m not making that official until it’s all out down on paper.

Really short horror flick but take the mad scientist from Resident Evil 3 and combine him with the virus created in 28 Days Later… mix in a splash of B movie quality and you have The Rage. Here’s the blurb “A crazed scientist experimenting with a rage virus on innocent victims in a laboratory in the woods. When his monstrous subjects escape and vultures devour their remains, they became mutations seeking to feed on humans.” I really only recognized Andrew Divoff (whose name I had to lookup) from The Wishmaster series. I have to admit the way that the virus was spreading was massive cheese but I will give the director props for having the balls to kill a couple of 7-10 year olds in the first 1/2 hour of the movie *laughs* 2 B movies in a row and 2 B movies with a great quote though.. “I hope that local guy wasn’t fucking with you… I’ve seen 100 shitty horror movies that start like this.” right as the main characters take a side road. Honestly it could have been great.. if they didn’t use vultures to spread the disease ;)

At the end of the movie I was forced to the grocery store for my mother. I spent the night after that playing CoD 4 until I passed out.. early for me.
