Pirate Pillow!

So… this is being billed as a skull and crossbones pillow… (or a pirate pillow.) I disagree though. I don’t think thats how this should go at all. Do you see the legs there? Do you see the arms? I’m sorry but this HAS to be a villian in a B horror movie. That’s all I will accept of it and nothing less. If it doesn’t become one I need to actually buy it from This Place! and somehow incorperate it into a B movie of my very own! (… I have to remember to show this to Neil.. right now.. he’s gonna love this idea.. a giant fuzzy skull and crossbones as a villian.. sweet.)

Time it passes and it tells us what we’re left with.. We become the things we do.. Me, I’m a fool, spent from defiance..

So Wednesday was a day for cleaning the house (after sleeping in of course.) After being up for awhile I couldn’t make myself be productive quite yet.. fortunately for me when Rose called to check for the plans for the night she reminded me that there was a new episode of House!

House: Survivor Edition continued this week with a shocking final result! Yes the verdict is in and the episode was a great way for House to do it on who he keeps and who he doesn’t. Of course he does this in a ture and pure House style. The above image is just my personal favorite shot I’ve found of Olivia Wilde, the cutey new ‘innocent’ girl whose been partially the voice of Cameron this season, though a voice with a spine. (whose cuter…) Well my personal favorite that’s classy and not NC-17 at least *laughs*. At any rate good times. The season is far too addicting so far and I can’t wait until next weeks. Though.. there is one thing I can wait for.. the end of this season. Waiting another 6 months will be horrible (at least at about the time this is ending BSG kicks back in. Score.)

Afternoon hit and I picked up Rose and we headed out to Oak Brook to pick up her birthday gift (happy b-day tiny).. followed that up with hitting up Houlihans at her request (where Neil took her out to do the same shopping) Chilled with Brad and Rex showed up, lil while later Giles and Rob showed up finally ending with Dan making an appearance. While Houlihans might be cheaper I do have to admit I’m a bigger fan of the Louie on Wed nights. It just seems to encourage conversation that much more. At any rate hopefully Rose had a good time as it was her day.

On Thursday I decided to actually start up my 360 for gaming and not a movie *gasps* it’s been awhile since I’ve played anything on it while I’ve been stuck doing other things and sitting in PC gaming land.
While I’ve been slacking on playing the 360 at all lately I decided before heading to the grandparents for the day I’d get some Puzzle Quest in. It’s been awhile since I’ve had a chance to enjoy the 360 in the slightest so even a XBLA game gave some enjoyment. Oh how I need to beat Bioshock.
grandparents , puzzle, dinner
Ok I know I’ve been watching a lot of South Park as of late. While playing some games after the grandparents I needed something to zone out to. South Park Christmas special? Ok it’s a little early in the season to watch any Christmas related .. ANYTHING. However if you know what the Christmas Critters are.. how can you pass up on little furry cute woodland creatures.. who are Satanic and want to end the world? Ok the other episodes on the DVD were entertaining as well just not up to anything so wrong and evil. So Santa dies and is brought back to life in one episode and Jesus in another. They’ve done both of those concepts to death (cheap pun!)

So a pyschotic cop.. or.. crazy hick dressed as a cop going on a spree taking over an abandoned town and making it his own. It’s hard to say past that without giving it away but there are a few good things to come from it. Steven Weber was in it… which is great since he’s been in: Nightmares & Dreamscapes, Desperation, The Shining. The man’s been in *3* King movies… of course they were all B grade King movies… King movies nonetheless. I do like the self jab in the story though.. while talking about books a girl in it quoted, “I pretty much stick with Dean Koontz.” If you don’t get the humor in that I’m not going to explain it to you. I shouldn’t have to. For a B King movie it was surprisingly well done. Worth a rent at the very least. Bonus: Tommy’s Dad from Rescue Me is one of the characters in the show ;)

Ok .. I’m now about 3/4′th of the way through Puzzle Quest.. I guess sleep just didn’t want to come right away as is becoming the norm once again. You know for the longest time I was able to sleep long hours.. now once again I’m staying up rediculously late with movies / games / going out just because I can’t sleep. Score. At least this achivement looked like an axe and not the fonz giving a thumbs up like the last one ;)

George… Didn’t you learn anything from Bill’s mistake?

Found over here I don’t think I need to comment past that.

Innocence is heaven.. Innocence is hell.. Innocence in everyone.. Innocence is dead

As I write this I have a headache that I may or may not have just OD’d on painkillers to get rid of. If I am found later twitching or convulsing.. it’s been nice knowing you all! For now the pain just needs to fade away ;)

At any rate onto yesterday.. work was sssslllloooowwww.. though I did find out some potentially good news.. in THEORY Friday my ride will be fixed. Yes the bimmer will be back. (.. on an odd note.. they are re-tinting my front side window that had been destroyed in the accident… isn’t that… … what the hell? I mean that’s cool and all.. it saves me a trip to the tint shop I know will do them but… what the hell?) .. Not so hot area: Rob had some bad news come up his way.. Sorry to hear bro. Hope that will all be worked out. Really do =/

So I picked up:
a Logitech Harmony 360 remote. If you at all watch DVD’s on your 360 or stream media to it.. you NEED this remote. I’m sorry my TV, DVD player, and 360 all smoothly integrated into this instantly and I have to say I don’t know how I ever enjoyed watching movies on the 360 previous to owning this. In either Media Center or my now favorite TVersity it makes a world of difference on being able to navigate very quickly (and more naturally than a game controller) and have the added bonus of not having your wireless controllers constantly on and being drained. The interface is completely logical and took me about 15 seconds to figure out how to switch between everything. The beauty of the remote is depending on what ‘mode’ you put the remote in you can have it pre-programmed to either keep appliances on if switching between them or having them auto shut-off. Laziness at it’s best.

Stuffed Guts!

I’m not sure how I feel about these… I’m all ones for ‘odd’ stuffed animals. I find them entertaining. Why not? These though. All I can imagine is seeing some parent getting these for their child with the dream of inspiring them to become doctors… and reading the headling: “Child Serial Killer Goes on Rampage, Kills Family of 4, Says Organs Were Smiling at Them!” .. I mean seriously can’t you see that? Some kid goes “ohhh the heart has a cute smiley face on it!” and go digging into another kid to get another one? Yes.. yes you can.. but only after my twisted mind came up with the idea… maybe I need therapy?

Overpriced stuffed guts available over here for far more than they are worth! ;)

Confess to me.. Every secret moment.. Every stolen promise you’ve believed

Saturday night Jen invited me out to Bourbon Street with her crew but with the large expenses as of late and work in the AM I ended up staying in. Which meant movie time!
So I figured with the luck I had with Dr. Strange I would give another Marvel animated movie a shot. (Helllllo geekdom.) However yes.. I will fully admit it it was enjoyable movie. Granted I will probably be seeing ‘partially’ the exact same thing on the big screen next year when the live action version comes out but honestly.. I’m ok with that. While I’ve never been a huge fan of Iron Man his origin story was always kind of interesting. That and the fact that he’s a like Batman.. rich and doesn’t need to be doing it. What entertains me is that he’s a drunk playboy on top of that.

Sunday I stayed in.. Rex ended up being in the ‘burbs later on in the day but by the time we got in touch I was done for the night having already fallen into working on figuring out TVersity which is some VERY nice media streaming software… (I can now watch movies and TV on my 360 2000x better than when I was using Media Center’s plugins..) .. Thanks for helping me get that up and running Rex ;) After which I watched the first half of the second season of Weeds in a half asleep stupor. (Wow.. lots of not hanging out with people this weekend.. tsk tsk)

The last couple of days I pretty much have been working long hours and getting my video game groove on. Trying to not let the holiday leftovers fatten me up while getting into relax mode at the same time.

Burn another bridge, break another heart.. Try again, it will only fall apart

Wow did work suck yesterday. We were a ‘bit’ understaffed.. as in I walked in making it 3 people, one of who left about 2 hours after that. So yes we were slightly shorthanded for how many calls we actually got. (I really felt as if I was going to pull my hair out at this point.)

After work we were going out to celebrate Rob’s birthday so I drove out to Naperville to pick Neil from his brothers. Seriously it’s about 5 minutes from my aunt’s house. Had I known that I would have gone a slightly different way and saved a few min off the drive ;)

Picked Neil up and drove over to The Fox & The Hound to celebrate the day of Rob. His sister was out, Neil obviously, Brad, and his wife. I honestly don’t know how this works but it was another day of seeing my bar tab showing everone paying for full drinks but mine having only 1 Captain & Coke on it and having at least 4 at that point. No complaints at all it was just a bit entertaining. After a bit we moved over to the pool hall in the bar and Brad and I won 3/5 games in pool (I’m way too out of practice…) Dropped Neil off and called it a night around 3:30.

I’m not sick, but I’m not well.. And it’s a sin, to live so well

The day started by waking up to a bright light… which would be an overcast sky filled with snow being far far too bright when I’m passed out by the window at Neil’s place. After I was able to function I woke Rob up and we made the oh so long journey (see: 20 minutes) back to the ‘burbs and amazingly enough by the time I hit LaGrange the snow had vanished completely… a distant memory that felt like a prophetic vision of the near future!

The above is what one of the 2 cats I will eventually own shall look like on the Thanksgiving where turkeys rise from the dead intent on disturbing our gorging by biting back. Thats.. at least what I like to tell myself as I fear the day that the dead come back.. to gobble us up. Oh it was bad.. did you read how bad that was? The pun hurt to type I feel sorry that you had to read it.. Jesus. Horrible. At any rate did the Turkey Day with the fam.. was at my parent’s house this year so the consumption of food took up the majority of the day (as it should!)

After dinner Rose decided to introduce me to Season 1 of Weeds. Ok the basic concept of the show is an uppy suburb housewife whose husband paid all the bills and died of a heartattack. She decided to work to pay the bills.. but working involved becoming a drug dealer. This stretches from her new associations with people, friendships, risks of the job, etc.. all while dealing with being a mother of 2 and trying to cope with the loss of her husband. Honestly the show was hilarious and worth picking up.

Whats a media filled night without a movie? So here’s my preview thoughts on The Mist. It looked kind of dumb. Seriously theres a mist and people are dying. I had nearly completely written it off until I heard who was directing it. While The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile are two of my favorite Stephen King movies they aren’t horror. When I found out that the same director of these two were heading this up I became less down on it and just skeptible. This movie didn’t take place in a jail and there was an evil.. mist.. thing. Still I decided to give it a show and am SO glad that I did. They pulled off 2 things in the movie that were completely unexpected (having not read the book.) Wow. I don’t know if it was the shock factor or just finished off that well but I say you should check it out if your in the movie for a horror movie thats just done well. Great cast, effects, development, interaction, filming, everything. The way it ends alone makes everything that much better.

I say that I dont care I just run my hands.. Through her dark hair and then I pray to god.. You gotta help me fly away

Even though I’m writing about the previous day as always it IS thanksgiving so Happy Turkey Day one and all! May your bellies be full and the sleep come early. (Gold star to whoever first tells me where the above title picture is from. It’s an easy one.)

At any rate yesterday was a slow day, lifted a bit and watched the new episode of house and spent the rest of it vegging in front of the TV.. well until about 7 when I went to pickup Rob. Wednesday night is of course one of the drinking nights and being Black Wednesday it was an excuse to drive out to the city in the middle of the week.. We met up at Neil’s where we pre-gamed a bit and than went over to Morgans for a few hours where we met up with Rex, Paris, and a few of Neil’s crew. Ended the night with Juniors and some late night grub followed by watching some Family Guy back at Neil’s. Kind of a slow year for it though I’m sure the weather may have helped encourage people to not go out ;)

The Laser Saw!

THE FUTURE IS NOW! Ladies and gentlemen…. behold! Where Austin Powers decided to run with the Sharks with Lasers idea a true “with lasers” idea has come to fruition!
This hand saw has a built-in laser, so you can see precisely where you’re cutting without additional measuring. Just make a mark on your cutting surface, align the laser beam with the line, and cut away. You’ll make a straight line every time. Button-cell batteries not included.

I feel embarassed linking where to buy this. It makes me dirty… yet for you fine ladies and gentlemen.. there you go!
