She says that love is for fools who fall behind…

So Wednesday I was on a bit of lower amounts of sleep so caffeine was my friend all day long. I was on about the 10′th cup of coffee by 1 before I switched to coke (followed by .. captain and c… wait.. no.. mojitos! hooza) It very much felt like a good idea to go with a busy mindset kind of day.

So I started the day finishing up Bitten (finally..) which was just a great start to the series. I had originally been advised a few books in but not a big deal as those touched primarily on other characters. Going to have to pick up the next one when time permits. After finishing it I started The Devil in the White City. I got a few chapters in, quite entertaining but decided it was time to top off the tank and wash my car. With the bimmer clean there was of COURSE construction on Janes again. What a waste but at least it looks somewhat better ;)

While driving around attempting to do some errands Rose gave me a call so I picked her up to hit the mall for her to drop off an application then grab some lunch. Can’t just pass on our weekly M&E visit now can we? I love having the waitresses just not even seat us or take are orders but just meh it and bring it to us lol. Went back to her place after to watch the season finale of House MD. and.. well… Shit. Either thats it, or the next season is going to either ruin the series or make it extremely interesting. Too bad it’ll be quite a few months before I know which way they’ll go with it. Bastards. They really left it off with HUGE changes that I just, ok well I kind of saw coming but I didn’t think they’d do it to the full extent and that surprised me. I was thinking it would only partially not fully happen. After that we started watching Miami Vice then between how bad it was and her having plans to hit up the city with some of her friends so we split our separate ways.

Ran home for some down time since I had a couple hours to kill. Well down time was the original plan, my dad decided to call me with fun news. Apparently he went to the doctor finally for the ‘cold’ he’s had for the last 7 days. The one I told him to go in for on the second day when he looked like shit. So apparently, he has possible kidney AND liver problems. Ya know. No biggy. Nothing to worry about in the slightest. I don’t know if I’m more pissed or concerned right now. We’re around 6 months into the year and this is the THIRD time he hasn’t gone to the hospital and should have. *sighs* While most of this year I love there’s certain aspects I’m just getting a migraine over and this is one of the biggies. Well at least I can say that it’s been bugging me for a few days with good reason now. Ran to pick some drinks and medicine for him and back home to attempt to chill, fortunately it was getting close to bounce time so I didn’t have to sit still for too long. Left around 8 to meet up with Neil to get some fun filled drinking in and was happily surprised that Rex decided to come out too as he was originally not sounding like he was free. The return of Wednesday Club? Two weeks in a row doesn’t justify it but we’ll see. Thank god for it though. Between the misc. random shit going on a night of drinking and rambling clears the head and everyone at that table needed an entertaining night :)

MMMMM Tasty! You know I get more of a kick out of writing my blog when I can insert pictures. I wonder why that is?

It’s really good to hear your voice say my name..

So today marks 2 weeks straight of daily updates, I kind of made a goal for myself to update a month straight. *stretches* Well for the yesterday recap, work was work. We were slammed most of the day helping it go by from being busy. I suppose it’s payback from the easy Monday? I still don’t believe in this evil karma concept. Theres far too many areas of my life it never even nearly applies too that it should lol. On top of I got to play sounding board for Rex for his problems. He’s had ongoing issues for awhile I’ve been trying to help with without trying to influence what he wants to do. Fun times. Really going to have to set a day to hang with him later this week if possible.

So, after work might just possibly fall into the semi-interesting category. Leah was in town for her mother’s wedding so having a free night we spent a bit of time hanging out. Anyone who knows Leah or about her knows that for me this can only spell trouble, though for once not so much. lol. At any rate we hitup dinner and a couple drinks and watched a movie. It was entertaining… predictable how the night went but entertaining nonetheless. Some things change.. most things don’t :) I am glad we were able to spend some time together while she was in the area though.

Memories like artifacts attacked yet still intact.. Melodies wrapped in glass and shatter with the impact

This ones going to be pretty short. I think. Trying to keep the blog updated on a daily basis means I can’t combine the slow days like I usually do. I have a feeling this whole daily update thing isn’t going to last much longer and I’m soon going to fall back into an every other day update routine. We’ll see though!

Working on a holiday is always an interesting experience. The entire day is set in an all too busy or all too slow tone that will force everything else to follow in it’s wake. So how was it yesterday? On an 8 person staff we took less calls throughout the entire day then just Neil and myself take on a Sunday. Work was slow is the biggest understatement I can use to describe it. It wasn’t just slow; within 2 hours of being at work I had written yesterday’s blog update, watched an episode of Battlestar Galactica Neil and I downloaded, and fooled around online a bit. All while taking 1 SINGLE call. We may have been overstaffed thinking back on it. An hour and a half, ahem, nap, ahem…. … Thank god certain people aren’t near a computer and won’t be for a day or I would never hear the end of how much I slacked yesterday. (of course she might always go back and read it later… Doom I say.)

After work was more of the lazy day. I went at home to chill for a bit, ran over to Rose’s to watch House M.D. One episode left in S3 that comes out this week. Kinda not happy that soon it’ll be off for about 6-8 months but these things happen ;) After watching that I came back to the pad and crashed while reading Bitten which as much as I like I just can’t seem to finish it and chilling to music. I have so much new music and so much coming in it’s just disgusting. I’ve been on having a whole soundtrack to life going on lately with music playing nearly nonstop. It’s really fun chilling at work on a call with a completely frustrated customer and in such a laid back state from some reggae or just something relaxing that it doesn’t really matter. Helps make the day go by faster too which is always a plus while at work. Not that I’m EVER thought of by anyone as laid back.

You got one life here to make it, for the movies

Sunday during the day was snoozeville. In the morning I watched The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Serendipity. Mmm the weekly movie fest. TCM was a good way to wake myself up from the haze of sleepyness I was in and honestly I had never seen Serendipity before. Good movie. There were so many disgusting long periods of idle time during the day that I just was going stir crazy. Ordered ourselves far too much food from The Patio and the last half of the day Neil and I realized that hey, we’re geeks in our spare time, and figured out a way to watch the first 2 episodes of Battlestar Galactica Season 3. Oh yes, you’d think after that the last thing I would want to do is watch anything for days.

After work though Rob decided to have been a bum and never watch Pirates 2 so Neil and I went over to the AMC to catch a showing by ourselves. Yes thats right after all that I went to watch a 2 hour and 45 minute movie. Oddly enough we ran into a guy we worked with there. Yes, I’ve seen the movie twice and it was so worth it both times. It’s a bit scary hanging out with Neil sometimes, same reaction/commentary at the same time. After, instead of grabbing a few drinks, he had to head back out to the city and I was starting to feel the fact that I’d been up for 15 hours on oh so little sleep so ran home. Did some gaming with Joe online for a bit and when I realized I had fallen asleep while playing it was pass out time so logged and curled up in bed.

Sweet like candy to my soul.. Sweet you rock, and sweet you roll…

Ok. As you can all tell by my updates I am one who is ALL for pranks in the office. It’s entertaining. It helps the day go by faster. Overall it’s a good time for all (aside from maybe the person being pranked but just about everyone here can take a joke.)

Theres a line you probably shouldn’t cross though. Anyone who knows about IL (since not all of you are from here or still live here) know that once every 17 years we get a fun filled swarm of Cicada’s! Yes theres giant grasshopper wannabe bugs everywhere that shed their shells and leave them all over the place.

That cup of bug shells is currently on Monica’s desk. I again am slacking on the pranks in the office but this one is a bit much for even me to do to someone. That’s just downright mean. (Though it was funny when it was originally on Sal’s desk and he screamed like a lil girl when he came back from break!) I should probably have moved it off, but far be it from me to spoil someone else’s prank. Just.. wrong. I’m glad I won’t be here Monday when she comes in and thats all I need to say on the subject. Wow is she going to be pissed. As much as I’m laughing theres some pranks I just wouldn’t do to another.

Aside from that I pretty much slacked. I overdid it work wise Friday updating all of my tickets so I decided it was break time. I took maybe 30 calls all day and tried to spend the rest of my time watching Pan’s Labyrinth, Joe brought in 2 movies he had rented that I actually had not seen! That’s a bit odd but I’m not complaining :)

It is a subtitle’d movie which was a bit of a pain, however since I was at work and on calls it wasn’t that big of a deal. It’s a bit of a modern day fairy tale and was done quite well. The way the artwork and CGI was presented in the movie caused it to have a very dreamlike and surreal feel while still feeling ‘real’ as it were. It was not neccisarily a fairy tale for children though. It was more in line with the original Grimm’s Fairy Tales; lessons taught in a very dark manner. It was a very enjoyable watch if your in the mood for something a bit darker and can stand reading through the whole movie. I am one of the more patient people you will ever meet but honesty I probably wouldn’t have wanted to watch it if I wasn’t stuck at work. Not because it wasn’t enjoyable, it was, there were just certain long stretches combined with being subtitle’d that didn’t do it for me. I liked it. I enjoyed it. I’d recommend it if you were in the mood for the type of movie, if not though, I’d say take a pass.

After work was a bit slow. I ‘ran’ 4 miles (ok I didn’t really run all of it but whatever ;) ), did my weekly straightening of the rooms, and read. It was a nice relaxing night. Sadly not more interesting as work is oh so slow today and I have too much time on my hands which would be perfect for an overly large blog update!

Yo Ho, Yo Ho! A pirate’s life for me.

Friday I actually did have time to install the back roundel on my car before work *gasps* that’s right I didn’t sleep in until the last minute. I know. I was surprised as well. Driving into work though all I could think about was how I was going to snag a few free minutes to run out and buy some food and as I walk up to my cube what do I see? Sammich Factory. Yes due to a misorder there was a free sammich and I’ll give you one guess who got it. No need to hunt for my food today!

Luck of the devil baby.

It was entertaining though. Every single person in the office asked me how PoTC3 was and didn’t believe me that I didn’t go see it. Ok I know I see a lot of movies but seriously? At least 5 people shouted out they were surprised I hadn’t. *shakes head* So work was actually semi-consistant on being busy during the early part of the day. I was at one point told by she who is evil(*snickers*), “have fun on your calls you supposed “worker”.” How mean, specially since I couldn’t respond to her since I actually WAS working and couldn’t multitask with the type of call I was on. So not fun to not be able to respond and she logged before I had a chance. Oh well. Plenty of time later for that ;)

Ok honestly…. Today was just entertaining at work aside from the busy spurts since I’m not done with work stories yet. Sal got a mole removed from his face. His “Madonna Mole” as he decided to call it. Which in itself is boring, however my boss Ryan apparently decided he was sick of Joe and I having all the fun in the office lately. He lured Sal away from his cube for a few minutes and decided to have fun with a few stickers he printed up.

Ok. It’s chuckle worthy. You know you groaned and did an internal giggle at the same time because you just couldn’t help yourself. Of course it wouldn’t end there now would it?

Sulli got on it too. He had a little fun on board as you can see. Seriously. I almost feel bad for Sal. Almost. If I wasn’t laughing so hard. I’m glad I won’t be in tomorrow until way after he comes in. And again for a change… it wasn’t my fault!

After all that though the afternoon did drag. The highlights were Sulli singing Beautiful by Christina Aguilera, oh how it was painful, and being able to harass Rex for about an hour over something he should be doing but isn’t and was quite entertaining how deftly he ended up changing the subject. He walked away from the computer. *GRINS* He did however cave due to the prior post and may just be resurrecting his old domain name. I was entertained. You probably weren’t unless your Rex or know about what I speak of ;) The last interesting part of work was actually having an e-mail conversation with D from Girls With Slingshots. I like it when someone your a fan of actually responds ;) Nice person~

….. Read everything above and pay attention for a sec. That was all the work day. It’s so rare you can have a fully enjoyable work day AND actually get a lot done. (…I updated all 35 of my tickets and closed 1/2 of them, opened a huge pile more and took over 45 calls.) So. Wow. Yes an enjoyable work day.

After work I picked up Rose to grab some grub, where we had a quite slow waitress, and catch a movie you might have heard of?

Well. I liked it a lot, however I think those of you who weren’t huge fans of PoTC2 might not like the third that much either. It had the same kind of vibe going on but I think they both covered everything and wrapped it all up to be a good end to the series or a kick off for a 4′th if they wanted, with the added option of cutting characters. It was 2 hours and 45 minutes, while thats not a big deal to me it is to a LOT of people. There was a few continues of old jokes however not so blatently done as in the 2′nd movie. Jack also wasn’t in the movie for a lil bit, however you can overlook it since the buildup was done well. Though Jack’s first entrance was a bit… off, but enjoyable. Specially his little crab friends *snickers* I seriously had no real complaints on the entire movie aside from Calipso(sp?) near the very end and her lack of doing anything interesting. I could make a lot of stretching complaints as I like to complain about movies and sequals in general… but I won’t. It was just a fun ride. Worth seeing if you want to see the potential(yea right..) end of the series, the finale for the sequal, or love the series overall. I’ll probably see it again on the big screen at least once sooo….. it’s worth it!

Blogs in general.

So the last couple of weeks have felt a bit odd having a blog. Joe, Rob (Tennessee Rob not Work Rob), and possibly Chris(New Orleans Chris not Waitress Chris… christ.. too many people with the same name) are thinking of setting them up. Be interested in how that’ll go with ways to link them/etc. I’m surprised Rex, Rose, and my cousin Molly (LJ and MySpace don’t count) haven’t setup dedicated blogs/homepages in this format yet.

On top of that for the last month and a half I’ve had at least 1 person a week I’m having a conversation with make reference to something in the blog or if I was talking to them mentioning they’d already read it. (and literally every day this week..) So.. Hi guys and gals! <3 ya too. lol

Blogs. Wierd stuff what an online journal type thing becomes ;)

As the last update said I went to bed ‘slightly’ late on Wed. night. Thursday I crawled out of bed around 9 and kinda sat around until 10:45 when I crawled out and laid in the sun until a lil after noon. It was maybe 88 out but with the wind it was perfect. My dad took the day off so spent some time with him and decided to skip running for a change and ran out to ship a couple shirts and a few games I sold on Ebay. Mmmm Ebay moneys.

After that I ran over to my grandparents’ house for a couple hours to help with computer stuff, listen to some suggestions from the grandmother on life, and help with a puzzle. Hurray for lazy days. After that I took a ride over work (eww! on the day off even) to drop a DVD off for Neil (the last disc for BSG S2. It would have been MEAN of me not too!) and figure out which day we were all going to see PoTC3. It looks like I’m going to maybe see it twice? Depends on tomorrow’s plan. I’ll have to figure something out! After bullshitting with Neil, Rob, and Joe for awhile I came back home to veg for awhile. Which I did! Ok actually I changed the front roundel on my bimmer out and got stuck helping the ‘rents before I got to the back one. My bimmer was amusing when I wokeup having only the back roundel still blue and white. *groans*

I did spend some time on various projects today. I’ve decided a way to expand one of my ideas and get it done much quicker and cheaper. Now I just need header art made. Score.

Totally off subject. I know this has been making the rounds on the net but I just couldn’t pass it up. Ludology is the field of analyzing video games from a social science or humanities perspective. They go about the impact on civilization and all kinds of fun stuff. One of the aspects on this actually goes to show what many video game characters would be like if they were real. (Yes I’m sorry they aren’t real ladies and gents.) Somewhere between 2003-2004 Le Gentil Garçon and paleontologist François Escuilié, modeled Pac-Man after skulls of predatory animals:

I mean seriously. It’s just kinda neat that people have this much time on their hands. But do power pellets and ghosts really need that much chomping power? The world may never know.

New Blog Toys~

Ok added a couple things while looking for useful utilities for one of the projects I’m working on. I finally figured out how to use a plugin for wordpress that lets me include my 360 gamertag on the main page. I also found a nifty utility that has a great link feature at the end of each post. I’m not sure if I like it or not but I’ll stick it up for a bit and see if I like it. At any rate. Real update tomorrow or Saturday ;)

Extra bonus! It also adds the super link option to My Livejournal page! I love toys.

Now I just need to find if theres a way so it’s just on my page and not every post.. I’m sure there is.. just how is the question…

Edit: I figured it out. Yay!

Stayin’ up ’til 5 AM, Watchin’ the sun come up again, I’d do it all again if i could.

Sooo I know I promised a semi-interesting update but it’s only soso… I apologize ahead of time ;) I dragged myself out of bed somewhere around eleven and crawled outside to lay in the sun for about an hour… let me tell you.. half an hour a side is nowhere near enough time to get any form of tan… however my oh so fun tanning time (see: falling back asleep) was interrupted by Rose saying we should do lunch… as I needed to get to the mall anyway to pick up a couple things and had free time I figured this was a great way to help kill the afternoon. I ended up running 2 miles by the time she stopped by my dad got home. Since she’s doing some work for him I had to chill for a couple minutes while she was going over that so put the new centercaps on my bimmer. Of course theres no pictures quite yet as I’m getting the new roundels on first and a bath.. but soon! I promise!

Hitup Bar Louie for lunch then I just killed some time at the mall.. getting back to my place meant 2 things.. first Rose was heading out to spend the rest of the day with a friend and second…. Lego Star Wars time! … Ok I probably spent most of the afternoon laying my comfy self in front of my lovely plasma indulging in video game goodness…

… sorry I know I promised more then that… Fine fine… after killing a few brain cells in a video game induced stupor I dragged myself out of bed to talk online to a lovely little lady for a couple minutes before remembering (see: being harassed by islanders on what time we were meeting up) that I needed to shave, change, and get my ass out to meet up with Rex, Neil, and Rob over at the H-Spot… Yes It’s been awhile since we had a true Wednesday Night Club (as we so lovingly used to call it) get together… even though there was only 4 of us it was nice to go out drinking again. Our favorite waitress Chris was of course always happy to see us showing up again (I’m sure it has nothing to do with the fact we tip good.. really.. ok honestly she semi-hangs out with us on slow nights so we can’t be that bad) and apparently according to her by the end of the night I was giggly… I wasn’t that buzzed.. so that was a bit of an odd comment but who can complain about being in a good mood right?

As per the norm our usual topics of video games, movies, books, a recent influx of comic talk, cars, and tv spread across the table changing back and forth faster and more times than you’d want to keep count.. though we did have it very nicely devided with Neil and myself on one side and those fracking (see: using proper terminalogy) non-BSG watching Rex and Rob on the other ;) On top of all this we had a little conversation discussing how GI Joe was the worst cartoon of our childhood (and I backed this… if you know me well you know that means a lot!) I mean the transformers are more realistic. That says a lot, 4 story tall robots from another planet are more realistic then a make believe branch of our military. At least the transformers could die… the Joe’s and Cobra’s couldn’t even shoot eachother for frack’s sake.

The true fun part was with Neil, Rob, and myself all having quit our lovely Vitamin N addictions that sitting around in a bar drinking where we almost had to beg for ashtrays to get cleared off constantly and it really wasn’t a big deal. I dunno. Everyone claims they are handling it well enough. Personally theres days when I feel like I’m losing my mind but overall yea… it’s not really an issue surprisingly. Anyways.. All in all a good night… maybe it could be the restart of Wed Club… maybe I’ll keep pushing it so we all get together since everyone seems to love it and saying we should go again but if I don’t go no one does.. who knows? A bit early to tell. At the very least I should get something going for all of us once every other week or so.

When I got home I had a price quote sitting in my inbox for civin.com! It could be mine for a measily 2 grand!! (anyone wanting to donate 2 grand to the buy Stu civin.com fund is more then welcome.. otherwise it’s not happening. Hell I’d rather have the money to move out so instead of donating just buy it and forward it to civin.org cause if you’ve got 2 grand to spare… seriously I’d rather have moving funds lol) Spent most of the night staying up rediculously late for how early I crawled out of bed today… reading in a wine buzzed haze (ok so I kept drinking when I got home lol) The sun is a beautiful thing to pass out to… It’s been awhile since I was still awake when it came up.

I’d like to take this time to point out that life can be really odd sometimes.. Theres so many things to get hung up on but really.. it’s all about friends and what and who make you happy. It’s too easy to get caught up on the little things instead of enjoying what you do and can have. I’m getting older.. I realize I can’t have the carefree lifestyle forever but .. I love my friends.. and I love my rum and coke… and that’s all for now.

(For the record I originally wrote this when the sun was coming up and just went back to revise it and make sure I didn’t make too many typo’s ;) )
